Alive Credit Union Review
Alive Credit Union is a Jacksonville credit union with membership open to employees of Florida Blue, Baptist Health, Memorial Hospital, UF Health Jacksonville, St. Vincent’s Healthcare, the Mayo Clinic, and Ferrara Fire. Membership is also open to individuals who live or work east of Highway 301, and anyone who works in healthcare or real estate and their family members. Certain organizations, such as Bi-Lo grocery chain, SteinMart Inc., Ferrara Fire, and Allstate Workplace division are also served by Alive Credit Union.

Alive Credit Union was formed by a small group of BlueCross employees in 1954. At the start, the union only offered shares and loans, but today the union has grown and seen a few mergers and become a $128 million financial institution with a large selection of varied services.

Within Alive Credit Union is the CARES committee, which is a community outreach group comprised of Alive Credit Union employees. Members donate time and skills and create donations that benefit the community. Some events include:
- Eat Shop Play Neighborhood Market Event: Community gathering event at the Alive Credit Union where locals can work with arts and crafts, enjoy other booth events, and visit Pit Sisters animals.
- Mad City Money: This event is hosted by the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and allows teens to create a simulated identity and manage families, careers, and various financial responsibilities. Teens also interact with salespeople and commission-based merchants to learn to deal with these situations.
- Scholarship Program: The credit union provides the Betty M. Collins Memorial Scholarship to a credit union member working toward a career in healthcare from an accredited institution.
