The Business Analyst will be responsible for working as a liaison on projects to address business improvement opportunities.

He/she will be responsible for ensuring that any gaps in the viewpoints between IT managers and business managers can be effectively bridged for project success.



Business Analyst Job Responsibilities

Business Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited:

  • Detect, assess and collect information on business requirements
  • Make recommendations for items to be prioritized  based on risk and a thorough cost-benefit analysis
  • Assess the needs of the project and help with creating functional system designs
  • Assist the business development team on specific business requirements and ways in which those requirements can be implemented
  • Conduct research to determine if solutions proposed are possible using existing tools
  • Conduct feasibility study for new solutions proposed and the overall impact on the business
  • Work with the information technology team to explain and demonstrate the business requirements/specifications using specific cases
  • Define project requirements, determine project milestones and phases, and help to formulate project budget
  • Facilitate training sessions and demos to explain any new developments
  • Develop relevant documentation for the new functionality or processes that have been implemented


Business Analyst Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Understanding of business process reengineering
  • Understanding of business systems development and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective in written and oral communication
  • Ability to communicate well with both internal and external personnel
  • Proven experience in data analysis and verification
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and quick to understand issues
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Strong multitasking skills
  • Great presenter and facilitator
  • Proven experience with reporting and statistical analysis
  • Project Management skills and experience working in a project-based environment
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project
  • Supervisory or people management experience a definite plus
  • Knowledge and experience working with offshore teams
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment
  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) will be considered a plus
