The first thing to consider when looking at a Comerica Bank credit card or other bank credit card is whether you have an existing relationship with the bank and how you like it.
If you have a Comerica checking account and hate the customer service and online platform, then a Comerica Bank credit card might not be the best option.
Aside from your relationship, when you are doing a review of other Comerica Bank credit cards, and other bank credit cards like Key2More rewards card from KeyBank, you need to consider the following credit card features:
- Fees
- APRs & introductory offers

- Sign-up bonus
When going through this credit card review article, it is important to keep your needs and individual preferences in mind. The Comerica Visa is great for some people, but others fare better with the Key2More rewards MasterCard or a Huntington credit card.

Fees
In order to generate more profits, credit card companies charge you fees beyond interest. These fees range from annual and late payment fees to balance transfer and foreign transaction fees.
Most fees that you will see with a Huntington credit card or similar card are associated with some action that you take, like using a card internationally or taking a cash advance, but if your card has an annual fee, you will be charged this fee ever year.
When it comes to annual fees, the Comerica Bank Visa® Bonus Rewards PLUS Card is the card to avoid. It is the only credit card with an annual fee on our list. Though it is only $50, no other cards charge an annual fee.
Looking at balance transfer fees, the Comerica credit cards or Huntington credit cards would be your best bet. The Comerica Bank cards, including the Comerica Bank Cash Rewards American Express® Card, and the Huntington Voice Credit Card® 3X REWARDS, and Huntington Voice Credit Card® Lower Rates only have a 3% balance transfer fee.
The KeyBank Key2More Rewards® Credit Card and KeyBank Latitude℠ Credit Card jump up to a 4% balance transfer fee.
When looking at cash advances, the Comerica credit cards and KeyBank credit cards are not your best option, since they have a 4% fee. This is 1% more than you will see with a Huntington credit card.
Of all of the credit cards, if you are looking to avoid a foreign transaction fee, you will want to seize a Huntington credit card or the Comerica Bank Cash Rewards American Express® Card. All of the other cards on the list charge a 3% foreign transaction fee.
It is important to see how these cards stack up when it comes to fees. Make sure that the fees of the card you are considering align with how you plan to use the card.
APRs & Introductory Offers
Credit issuers charge you an annual percentage rate (APR). This is the rate that you will be charged on any balance that is carried on your credit card.
42.1% of Americans are carrying credit card debt, and if you are one of them, you will want a credit card with a low APR. With a lower APR, you will accrue less interest when carrying a balance on your card.
If you are looking for the lowest APR, you will want to turn to the KeyBank Latitude℠ Credit Card, which is followed by the Huntington Voice Credit Card® Lower Rates with a variable APR of 10.24 to 23.24%.

The Comerica credit cards have higher APRs, with a variable APR between 12.24% and 23.24%. The KeyBank Key2More Rewards® Credit Card and Huntington Voice Credit Card® 3X REWARDS have the highest APRs, starting at 13.24%. Though these aren’t a major difference, if you are carrying a large balance over from month to month, you will save on interest with the other cards.
Some credit cards offer introductory APR periods, which means that you will not be charged interest on balances for a specified period of time. This is a great feature to have, and you should take it into consideration.
Unfortunately, you will not get an intro APR offer with either Huntington credit card. The Comerica credit cards will offer you six months of 0% APR. This isn’t a relatively long intro APR offer, but it beats no offer.
The KeyBank credit cards also both offer introductory APR periods. With the KeyBank Key2More Rewards® Credit Card, you will get six months’ interest free, and the KeyBank Latitude℠ Credit Card will offer an impressive 15 months of 0% APR.
If you are planning to carry a balance on your card, or planning for large purchases, make sure you consider the variable APRs and introductory APR offers that come with each of these credit cards.

Rewards Earning
In order to entice you to use their credit card, issuers offer continual cash back rewards or points. By offering these rewards, they hope that you choose their card when buying your soy latte or pumping gas, instead of the other cards in your wallet.
Right away, the Huntington Voice Credit Card® Lower Rates can be removed from contention for best rewards card, because it offers no rewards. The other Huntington credit card does though, offering 3 points per dollar spent on any category of your choosing every quarter.
The Comerica credit cards also offer rewards. The Comerica Bank Visa® Bonus Rewards PLUS Card offers 1 point per dollar spent, but the catch is that you get a 50% bonus on all points earned, every month. This great feature sets this card ahead of the pack.
The Comerica Bank Cash Rewards American Express® Card also offers rewards. You will get 3% cash back at gas stations, 2% at supermarkets, and 1% on all other purchases.
Finally, we look at the KeyBank credit cards and the rewards that they offer. The KeyBank Latitude℠ Credit Card does not offer rewards, but the Key2More rewards MasterCard more than makes up for that.
With the Key2More rewards card, you will earn 5 KeyBank Relationship Rewards® points for every $1 in spent, with monthly bonuses. You will get a 25% bonus for spending more than $1,000 in a month and a 50% bonus if you spend more than $2,000.
When you are analyzing credit cards like the Key2More rewards MasterCard, make sure to look at rewards. You may be surprised how fast you rack up points!

Sign-Up Bonus
Americans have so many options for credit cards that issuers are always looking for a way to convince you to choose their card. That is why they offer sign-up bonuses. These bonuses usually come in the form of cash back or points, and after making your first purchase or spending a set amount of money on your card, you will receive the bonus.
If a sign-up bonus is make or break for you, then either Huntington credit card will disappoint you, because neither offers one. This is also true for the KeyBank Latitude℠ Credit Card.
Thankfully, the Comerica credit cards come to the rescue. With the Comerica Bank Visa® Bonus Rewards PLUS Card, you will get $50 cash back after your first purchase. The Comerica Bank Cash Rewards American Express® Card also offers $25 cash back after your first purchase.
KeyBank won’t be left out of the fun, as the KeyBank Key2More Rewards® Credit Card offers an impressive 10,000 bonus points for using their card to make five purchases in the first two months of having your Key2More rewards card.
As great as sign-up bonuses are, it is important to remember here that sign-up bonuses are just a one-time benefit. Other features, such as APRs and fees, will carry with you for the duration of using your credit card.
