EECU Review
EECU was originally founded as the Fort Worth Teachers Credit Union in 1934 to provide financial services for teachers and administrators in the Fort Worth area. The name was later changed to the Educational Employees Credit Union and then shortened to EECU.
This top credit union is a 2.3+ billion-dollar institution and offers access to more than 5,000 Service Centers and 85,000 ATMs nationwide, in addition to their 14 Financial Centers.

One of the many checking accounts available to members of EECU is the Real Worth Checking with Interest account. This account requires only $25 to open, and with a minimum daily average balance of $1,000, there are no monthly service fees.
Balances of $1,000+ earn 0.15% APY. Additional checking account features include courtesy overdraft protection, a 0.10% select loan discount and free online and mobile banking.
For those individuals looking for a higher interest rate, EECU also offers a Money Market Checking account with a minimum of $2,500 to open and interest as high as 0.90% APY.
EECU Review: Investment Options
EECU offers its members several investment options to grow their money, plan for retirement, and save for healthcare expenses.
For those looking to invest in a CD, they offer rates as high as 2.35% APY and as low as a $1,000 minimum deposit. They also offer flexible terms from 3 months to 5 years.
IRAs can also earn as high as 2.35% APY and have zero maintenance fees with a variety of terms available.
For saving money tax-free for healthcare expenses, they offer Health Savings Accounts with no monthly services fees, interest paid monthly, and as high as 1.00% APY.
