Key Factors Leading Us to Rank This Firm as One of This Year’s Top Credit Union Firms

Upon completing our detailed review, Neighborhood Credit Union was included in AdvisoryHQ’s ranking of this year’s best credit unions based on the following factors.

Neighborhood Credit Union Review: Kasasa Checking

Kasasa is a branded checking account, and currently Neighborhood Credit Union is the only Dallas credit union to offer this account. This checking account provides members with valuable rewards, including a competitive APY on balances and nationwide ATM withdrawal fee refunds.

This account has no monthly fees, it includes overdraft protection up to $1,100, and the one-time opening balance is only $25.

There is no minimum balance to earn rewards, and if you complete certain actions, such as setting up an automatic payment or direct deposit, you can earn an even higher interest rate.

Neighborhood Credit Union Review: Fresh Start

For consumers who have had previous problems with ChexSystems and have been denied accounts at other banks or financial institutions, there is the Fresh Start Checking Accounts.

The Fresh Start Checking account requires only a $25 minimum deposit, and there is no minimum balance requirement.

There is a monthly service fee, but this account is available to consumers who wouldn’t ordinarily qualify for other checking accounts. After six months of good account history and completion of an educational workshop, account holders may be eligible to open other accounts at Neighborhood Credit Union.

Neighborhood Credit Union Review: Savings Accounts

The savings account options available from this top Dallas credit union include:

  • Prize: Account holders have the opportunity to earn monthly, quarterly, and annual cash and prizes. This account also includes unlimited deposits and no fees if qualifications are met.
