Floridacentral Credit Union Review

Established in 1958, Floridacentral Credit Union was originally called Tampa Central Credit Union. At this time, it was a Tampa Credit Union that served as a credit union for other credit unions because previous regulations did not allow managers and board members to belong to the same credit union at which they worked.

Floridacentral Credit Union was created after this regulation was eliminated, expanding its field of membership to include Select Employee Groups (SEGs) from specific companies, and then anyone in Hillsborough and the surrounding area by the early 1990s.

Floridacentral Credit Union has been expanding since the 2000s. It currently serves more than 50,000 members and over 1,000 SEGs through its 12 branch locations in west-central Florida, making it a trusted credit union in Tampa and the surrounding region.
