USF Federal Credit Union has two types of accounts for minors: Good Cents Savings Club and Teen Accounts. The former is for children up to 12 years of age.

It comes with no monthly service fees and requires a $5 deposit to open, as well as the requirement that a minimum balanced be maintained.

The latter is for teens ages 13-17. It has the same requirements as the Good Cents Savings Club account, but offers teens aged 13 and older an ATM card. Moreover, when your teen turns 16, he or she can conduct checking transactions with a Visa Debit Card.

This helps your teen build credit, while also giving them access to online, mobile, and text banking. Conveniently, Teen Accounts are automatically converted to regular Primary Savings accounts when the minor turns 18.
